Older People

Over 72,000 people are currently living with dementia in London, and this number is set to more than triple within the next 40 years. As a result, we are putting in place steps to make positive changes that will improve experiences for people living with dementia at our Club and in our local community. We are doing this in partnership with a number of local organisations including London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham Council, the Dementia Action Alliance and Fulham Football Club Foundation.

We have trained 165 staff to become ‘Dementia Friends’ which includes a short online training to help support people attending the Club who may be facing challenges related to dementia. The Club has embarked on the next phase of this training with a more in-depth offer for many staff who require further knowledge. Throughout the sessions, staff will be able to enhance their understanding of dementia and improve their ability to provide support to those who need it.

Our Programs

  • Fulham Memories Cuppa & Conversation

In 2026 the Hurlingham Club Foundation, in collaboration with Fulham Football Club Foundation, has introduced a monthly Cuppa & Conversation Club designed to support individuals in the local community who are living with dementia, or care for someone with dementia.

Open to both Club members and the wider community, these events offer a welcoming and safe space to connect, stay active, share stories and enjoy delicious food in beautiful surrounds.

Guests are invited to come along for a hot drink, a sweet treat, and fun activities to get the mind working and the body moving -  from music and word searches to crafts and games.
